Elementary June Week 1 - I Can Spend Time With God Anywhere

Posted: 6/7/2020

Hello SCC Kids and families,

I had such a great time at our SCC Kids elementary zoom party! It was so great to see some of you. Congratulations to Quinn for winning this month's memory verse prize! If you were unable to attend the party, don't worry! We will definitely be having another one in a few weeks.

It's June! That means we are beginning a new series. This month our theme is EPIC. We will be learning about the time the Israelites spent wandering the wilderness. Our new memory verse is 1 Samuel 12:24.

This week we learn about the making of the tabernacle and how we can spend time with God anywhere. This is a great reminder as we continue to practice social distancing. While I look forward to the day we can all worship together again, it's great to know we do not need a church or tabernacle to spend time with God. We can spend time with God anywhere.

During this time of sickness and unrest in the world around us, it is important to make time to spend with God. James 4:8 says, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you." As we draw close to God, he reminds us to love and care for everyone around us. Love is the answer. If you are ever unsure about how to act or react in a situation, or the best way to support a loved one during a difficult time, the answer is Love. "Since you have purified yourselves by your obedience to the truth, so that you show sincere brotherly love for each other, from a pure heart love one another constantly" 1 Peter 1:22. We are called to love one another constantly and we are called to love all. If you or your family have questions or need extra support during this time, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any of the other church leaders. We are here to help guide you, pray with you and pray for you. You can reach me anytime by phone, text, email or the church page. I love you all so much, and God loves you too. Have a blessed week and make sure to spend some time with God.

Love,

Ms. Brandy
