Elementary November Week 3 - I Am Confident Because God Leads Me

Hello SCC Kids!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week! We are on week 3 of our Sing series where we are discussing the book of Psalms, written as songs in the Bible. This week we take a look at Psalm 119:101-105, "Your word is a lamp for my feet." That seems silly, doesn't it? How is God's word a lamp and why do my feet need a lamp anyway? You see, God's word is the Bible. The Bible is full of guidance to set us on the right path and follow that path safely. Imagine you are camping, or going on a night hike. That would be terrifying without a flashlight or lantern to help guide you. God's word is like our own personal flashlight. Even in times of darkness, we can be confident because God leads us with his light! That's why the second part of the psalm says, "How sweet your word is to my taste- sweeter than honey in my mouth." God's word is so great, if we read our Bibles and trust God to lead us, it is sweeter than honey! God's word is the best!
