Preschool January Week 4 - We Can Care About What God Cares About

Hello SCC Preschool and Kinder friends!

This week we are going on a treasure hunt! Doesn't that sound exciting? We are looking for treasures we think God cares about. Do you think God cares about treasure chests full of gold or gems? I'm sure God likes these things, but what God really cares about is you! The love and faith you have for God, or when you share the good news about Jesus with others, these are examples of treasures to God! So where do you think we can find these treasures? We can find these treasures every day in our hearts! Matthew 6:21 says, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." That means if your heart is with your favorite toy or earthly treasure, it will stay with that treasure on Earth. But if your heart is with God and doing what makes God happy, those treasures will be stored for you in Heaven! We've all lost or broken a favorite toy, right? We love that toy! What was it for you? I had a special doll and I loved it! One day, my dog chewed up my special doll! I was so sad. It's ok to be sad when we lose or break our things, but you must remember. We only have those things for a short time. Things like love, faith and being kind are treasures we can have forever. That's why God cares about those treasures. We can care about those treasures too!
